A Look Back at 2013

As 2013 comes to a close, it is important to reflect on the last year. I couldn’t be more excited about what the i2Coalition accomplished over the past 12 months on a global scale. We’ve made great strides internationally supporting a multistakeholder process in Internet governance and establishing the i2Coalition as a global advocate for the Internet infrastructure industry. Throughout the year, we traveled to numerous conferences worldwide, including the WTO Ministerial Conference, Internet Governance Forum, and several trips to ICANN meetings. This year, the i2Coalition became a member of ICANN’s Internet Service Providers Constituency.

Domestically, the i2Coalition has cemented itself as the unified voice of the Internet infrastructure industry. Through the help of our members and supporters, we helped pass The Innovation Act in the House, which is a solid step towards meaningful patent reform. Last February, we held our first Internet Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill to educate lawmakers about how the Internet works. We’re looking forward to continuing our educational efforts on Capitol Hill on March 4-6 at next year’s Internet Advocacy Day.

On behalf of the i2Coalition, thank you for all of your support over the past year. Our success in 2013 is directly attributable to our members. I’ve recorded a special thank you message to all of our members and supporters below that I hope you’ll take a moment to watch.
