ICANN has presented multiple data models to its contracted parties regarding their contractual agreements with ICANN and the GDPR. They’ve presented some of the legal analysis they have gathered to date and turned to the community for feedback and alternatives.
i2Coalition’s partners in the EU, eco – Association of Internet Industry, have presented the only comprehensive community-based compliance model. i2Coalition and many of its members contributed to the effort. On February 9th, we will walk through this community-driven alternative, as well as discuss topics looking beyond WHOIS to include registration data more broadly, including data required to be escrowed and retained under ICANN’s contracts. We will provide an overview of all compliance models, but place a focus on specific merits of the community model.
