i2Coalition Co-Founder Named to Industry Trade Advisory Committee
Vice Chairman and Co-Founder of the Internet Infrastructure Coalition (i2Coalition) David Snead has been appointed to the Department of Commerce and USTR Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Information and Communications Technologies, Services, and Commerce (ITAC 8).
As one of the 16 industry committees providing trade policy advice to the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative (USTR), ITAC 8 consists of a wide range of Internet and telecommunications leaders. David, an influential thought leader on Internet law, is an excellent addition.
In 2012, David co-founded i2Coalition with the mission of promoting policies supportive of the continued growth of the Internet. His position in ITAC 8 not only ensures that the interests of the Internet infrastructure industry will be heard on trade policy but also speaks to the vital role these companies play within issues of U.S. economic concern. David is one of a few — if not the first — representatives of the Internet infrastructure industry to be appointed to this esteemed committee.
“The Internet is a global resource that fosters innovation, creates jobs and fuels economic growth. A comprehensive trade policy that considers Internet issues is crucial to ensuring its future success, ” said Christian Dawson, Chair, and Co-Founder of i2Coalition. “I am thrilled David will be representing the Internet infrastructure industry in these important conversations.”
In addition to being a member of i2Coalition’s executive board, David is an attorney having broad legal experience in issues that face the Internet economy. In this role, he works exclusively with companies and individuals involved in the Internet infrastructure industry. For the past 20 years, David has provided general counsel services to companies — from Fortune 500 to startups — in different stages of success and in numerous countries.
