Working Groups & Initiatives: Tech Policy Briefing

The i2Coalition’s monthly Tech Policy Briefing is the premier place for Internet infrastructure industry leaders to connect with up-to-the-minute legislative developments that impact their businesses.

This expert-led meeting has become the gold standard for staying abreast of both the threats and opportunities facing the Internet’s infrastructure from U.S. and internationally-based legislation.

The i2Coalition has partnered with experts, analysts, and insiders to surface and contextualize specific legislative issues as well as larger policy trends affecting the i2Coalition membership. The challenges discussed  during the Tech Policy Briefings are then addressed as necessary through our action-focused Working Groups:

The Tech Policy Briefing has an established track record of helping i2Coalition members use their voices effectively by quickly providing thoughtful and compelling input into regulatory and legislative processes such as, recently:

  • FCC Open Internet NPRM
  • EU-US Data Privacy Framework
  • The EU’s NIS2 Directive, Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and e-Evidence Package
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework

…and many, many more.

Moreover, this group coordinates industry-wide efforts to, among other things:

  • Defend strong encryption
  • Fight for clarity in digital trade arenas
  • Ensure the retention of sensible online intermediary protections
  • Educate and provide needed context in the newest, complex regulatory debates such as cybersecurity and AI
