Working Groups & Initiatives: Cybersecurity and Privacy Working Group
Cybersecurity and privacy are not only hot topics with Internet users around the world, they are also the touchstones for major legislation with global impact. Some of this legislation, despite the best of intentions, is not fit for purpose and could be detrimental to the industry that actually builds the modern Internet.
Based upon issues and threats identified in the Tech Policy Briefings, members of the Cybersecurity and Privacy Working Group take action to protect not only their own business interests but those of the whole industry, the people who rely upon it, and the future development of the Internet itself.
The Cybersecurity and Privacy Working Group engages in policy matters and industry issues in accordance with the i2Coalition’s core focuses and meets regularly to discuss pressing concerns that fall within our scope. Group members take an active role in reviewing policy and writing briefs on behalf of the i2Coalition to support the industry’s goals.
The i2Coalition believes that an open and free Internet drives economic growth and enhances the lives of people around the globe. As an organization, we promote policies that foster continued development and expansion of the Internet. If you are not yet a member and would like to take part in the Cybersecurity and Privacy Working Group, please contact us about joining the i2Coalition.
