Working Groups & Initiatives: Technology and Trade Working Group
The Technology and Trade Working Group handles the telecommunications and content issues that affect the Internet infrastructure industry as well as digital trade. This scope includes three topics that have kept many IT professionals awake at night:
- Intermediary liability issues and the mitigation of content-level online harms
- Open Internet and net neutrality issues
- International digital trade policy and promotion
This Working Group not only analyzes the emerging issues and trends that impact the industry but also proactively engages with policymakers to make sure that the Internet’s best interests are represented in legislative deliberation.
The Technology and Trade Working Group engages in policy matters and industry issues in accordance with the i2Coalition’s core focuses and meets regularly to discuss pressing concerns that fall within our scope. Group members take an active role in reviewing policy and writing briefs on behalf of the i2Coalition to support the industry’s goals.
The i2Coalition believes that an open and free Internet drives economic growth and enhances the lives of people around the globe. As an organization, we promote policies that foster continued development and expansion of the Internet. If you are not yet a member and would like to take part in the Technology and Trade Working Group, please contact us about joining the i2Coalition.
