i2Coalition 2023 Internet Leadership Award Winners Announced
The i2Coalition 2023 Congressional Fly-In will conclude with our annual Internet Leadership Awards ceremony. This is where we honor members of this community for their contributions in making the Internet a better place. We are pleased to announce this year’s winners, and we look forward to handing them their awards in person during the Fly-In.
Internet Community Leadership Award:
Jon Nevett, President and CEO of Public Interest Registry
A mainstay in the domain name industry, Nevett is the President and CEO of Public Interest Registry (PIR), the nonprofit that operates the .ORG domain. Over the past 4+ years, under Nevett’s leadership, PIR created and continues to support initiatives like the DNS Abuse Institute and the Quality Performance Index and has received annual Best Places to Work awards.
Before PIR, Nevett co-founded Donuts, now Identity Digital, served as Senior Vice President at Network Solutions, and was the co-founder of the Domain Name Association (The DNA), which is now part of the i2Coalition. During the Obama Administration, Nevett served on the Online Safety and Technology Working Group.
Internet Entrepreneurship Award:
Tim Timrawi, CEO of Sharktech
Erin Timrawi, Chief Administrative Officer of Sharktech

Over the past two decades, Tim, along with his wife Erin, have developed Sharktech into a cloud hosting provider leveraging open-source and customized solutions that enable people across the world to connect. The Timrawis believe that such services should be competitive, neutral, and cost effective and that customers should not be locked into proprietary solutions. Sharktech stands for internet neutrality and freedom.
