 i2Coalition: Web hosting is a multi-sided industry—you have to serve the needs of businesses, agencies, resellers, and end-users. Which was your very first target market, and what did you learn as you grew?
LC: Our first focus was on web hosting resellers, as we recognized the demand for a platform that offered high-performance infrastructure and flexible tools without the costs of legacy licensing models. This taught us the importance of scalability, not just in technology, but also in providing features like effortless migrations, intuitive management, and robust customer support. It’s a lesson we’ve carried forward as we’ve expanded to serve agencies, businesses, and end-users. 

 i2Coalition: What impact do you think recent geopolitical events have had on your more recent growth?
LC: Geopolitical events have heightened concerns around data sovereignty, privacy, and security. As a result, we’ve seen increased interest in our hosting solutions from businesses looking for transparent, reliable providers that comply with local regulations while offering global scalability. Our emphasis on trust and ethical hosting has resonated strongly in this environment.  

i2Coalition: What’s the most surprising way that AI has affected managed hosting?
LC: AI has significantly improved predictive maintenance and resource optimization in managed hosting. For example, AI-driven insights allow us to predict traffic surges and allocate resources dynamically, ensuring uninterrupted service. AI is also reshaping customer support by enabling faster resolutions to common issues through intelligent tools, though we still believe in keeping a human touch for complex support needs. 

i2Coalition: Speaking of AI, how have those increased workload demands impacted your energy provision, which went 100% renewable a few years ago?
LC: AI workloads are resource-intensive, but our commitment to renewable energy ensures these demands are met sustainably. We’ve optimized our infrastructure to remain highly efficient, using innovations like energy-saving hardware and advanced cooling techniques. This allows us to manage AI-driven demands without compromising on our environmental responsibilities.

LC: Government policy plays a key role in areas such as data protection, privacy regulations, and cybersecurity standards. Compliance with GDPR and other regional frameworks shapes how we design our services, from data centre locations to privacy-focused tools. Additionally, policies around net neutrality and encryption influence the broader hosting landscape and guide our advocacy efforts within the industry.
