Superb Internet Joins the i2Coalition
The following is a post from Haralds Jass of Superb Internet about joining the i2Coalition.
As one of the world’s oldest hosting companies, in business since 1996 and serving many clients for over 15 years, we have seen the Internet mature and develop at a breakneck pace: from 14.4Kbps modems being the typical way to get online, to ubiquitous high-speed Internet in practically every home and on every smartphone these days. As the importance of the Internet has grown tremendously and as everyone depends on the Internet for critical day-to-day tasks, not just directly but also indirectly far more than most realize, it is more important than ever to have a fair, predictable and industry standards based approach to legislature that touches the Internet infrastructure, and to keep it open and easily accessible to all.
This is where i2C comes into the limelight, as the first – well overdue, but better late than never – coalition of the companies that operate the core Internet infrastructure, that touches each and every life in the modern world on a daily basis. We are proud to be a part of the i2C, which exists to foster the success of the open Internet, the Internet infrastructure industry, and to protect the critical part that the Internet plays in the economy and every citizen’s daily life.
