Help Celebrate #InternetFreedomDay

Just a year ago, the Internet community united to defeat the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA), legislation that would have compromised freedom, stifled innovation, and impeded economic growth. Today, we come together to commemorate that victory and recognize that with continued efforts, we can preserve the ideals that we collectively fought for last January. You can help celebrate Internet Freedom Day today by:

 

• Highlighting the day by using the #InternetFreedomDay hashtag on Twitter
• Visiting InternetFreedomDay.net to learn more and share it with others
• Contacting members of Congress about the importance of supporting Internet freedom and stopping potential intrusive legislation
• Checking out Craig Newmark at CraigConnects, who is promoting how the Internet gives individuals a voice
• Signing up for email updates and staying in touch with the i2Coalition
• Becoming a member and joining the i2Coalition in its efforts to preserve Internet freedom
