i2Coalition Submits Comments To NTIA On Action Against Botnets And Automated Attacks
The i2Coalition has submitted public comments to National Telecommunications & Information Administration’s (NTIA) request for comments on promoting stakeholder action against botnets and other automated threats. The request can be found on the NTIA’s site here.
Our comments focus on the constant evolving of information systems. Due to this abuse and security will never be entirely “solved,” and instead must be mitigated and managed. The ecosystem’s natural market incentives will continue to improve security. To positively affect the threat landscape at the governmental level, we must foster this process by engaging continued natural technical progression. We strongly encourage NTIA to focus on solutions that address the source of the problem, instead of well-working tools developed by our technical communities.
