Member Spotlight: Abusix
The following is a guest post from i2Coalition member, Abusix, who joined the i2Coalition in early 2016.Â
Abusix was founded by a group of Internet security, abuse handling, and fraud specialists who wanted to make the Internet safer, by increasing visibility for network security and abuse teams responsible for keeping their customer networks safe.
Making The Internet A Safer Place
Abusix uses a big data platform for centralizing and correlating all abuse and event security alerts from sources that originate from within hosting and access provider networks.
Using our products, companies are able to detect and resolve abuse and security issues faster by using our real time engine which parses and correlates massive volumes of abuse and security events from fragmented report data, clouds, services and systems, and automatically turning the event data into actionable insight and automated actions.
A Better Approach To Internet Security
Abusix provides the missing piece in today’s network security environment. The traditional security approach is still focused on protecting the user from foreign attacks. We see clearly that this approach is not enough, since 100% secure hosting and Internet access does not exist. Abusix combines the inbound and outbound security information of our customers. With our early warning sensors, we can detect security risks and permit the actioning of them automatically. This allows a reliable mitigation of issues as quickly as possible.
Abusix’ AbuseHQ™, a unified abuse management system, reduces abuse coming from within hosting and access providers through automated processing of inbound abuse reports, existing internal security solutions, and our data. The combined view of event data and the simple integration through easy-to-use Webhooks and APIs into existing tools allows our clients to act appropriately and quickly, restoring customer trust and safety to the network.
Abusix’ Data Service™ is a threat intelligence feed that provides the largest security companies in the world actionable data about malicious activity sources, emerging threats, and vulnerabilities. Abusix provides its feed to brand protection companies so they are able to identify brands being spoofed and phished and to network owners to identify the start of spam runs, providing early warning to impending block listings and abuse complaints. The Service processes billions of proprietary global security events and their related data elements each month.
A Mission To Fight Network Abuse Together
Abusix is excited to be joining the i2Coalition as a member. We understand and embrace the desire to advocate and help the hosting community self police its networks and address Internet abuse, privacy, and law. It’s the difference between community based enforcement vs. regulated enforcement of policy and acceptable use. Our platform enables that mission––both as individual companies and as a community.
We believe better community enforcement comes through improved security and abuse management of each provider’s networks as well as simplifying sharing of mutual threat intelligence between network providers with mutual interests.
We also believe while privacy is paramount, security and abuse fighting do not have to come at expense of privacy.
Ultimately, through earnest security and abuse process improvements, each network provider can enhance their own customer service values by embracing a customer centric trust and network safety initiative; thereby improving their network and service quality significantly.
How Abusix Is Taking Action
If network security fails, network abuse is the outcome. We not only need to keep defending our networks, but also start fighting against network abuse from within our own networks. Our mission is to provide the best tools and most useful information to make it as easy as possible for network operators to stop the bad guys. Abusix provides the visibility needed to protect their network and keep their customers safe.
