The Domain Name Association Launches New gTLD Resource Directory to Support Next Round of Applicants
Prague, Czech Republic – June 9, 2025
— The Domain Name Association (The DNA), a project of the Internet Infrastructure Coalition (i2Coalition), has officially launched a new gTLD Resource Directory to support prospective applicants in the next round of ICANN’s New gTLD Program.
Available now at https://thedna.org/new-gltds/, the directory is a curated list of trusted service providers offering expertise across every phase of a gTLD application, from registry operations and legal support to marketing and backend infrastructure. This first public version is being shared this week at ICANN83 in Prague.
“This is version one—a starting point for a resource that will continue to grow with community input and industry support,” said Christian Dawson, Executive Director of i2Coalition. “It’s built to solve a practical challenge: when prospective applicants ask ICANN who can help them apply for a gTLD, ICANN, due to its neutrality, can’t give an answer. We can.”
The gTLD Resource Directory was developed in response to direct requests from the ICANN community. It aims to bridge the gap between new entrants and established industry experts, particularly as interest in the next application window grows. The directory is part of a broader effort by the DNA to provide educational and practical support for all stakeholders in the domain name space.
Participation in the directory is open to all qualified providers. Companies listed in this first version were vetted through an advisory review process and include both DNA members and non-members. While there is no requirement to join the DNA to be included, Dawson noted that membership plays a critical role in sustaining and expanding efforts like this.
“Membership enables us to build tools that raise the profile of companies doing great work in the space,” Dawson added. “It helps us promote a stronger, more unified voice for the domain name industry.”
The DNA plans to expand the directory in the coming months with features such as:
- Provider bios and service descriptions
- Improved filtering by specialty and capability
- Educational materials to support new gTLD applicants
- Regular updates informed by community feedback
