Statement Of Support For Use Of Congressional Review Act In Addressing Net Neutrality Orders
The i2Coalition has issued a statement of support for the House efforts to use the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to revise the December 2017 FCC Restoring Internet Freedom Order. Congressman Mike Doyle of Pennsylvania is leading the House CRA effort. The FCC rules which effectively kill Net Neutrality went into effect yesterday. In order for the CRA in the House of Representatives to be a success, more Members of Congress need to sign on. To support the work, we encourage you to call or write to your Member of Congress. Another way to take action on the CRAÂ is to sign the petition at https://www.battleforthenet.com/.
The i2Coalition supports that work urging Congress to act further and establish clear Net Neutrality rules addressing blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization. These efforts reflect a balanced conversation between Congress and businesses on U.S. openness and competitiveness.
“Yesterday was a pivotal day for the internet. The equal footing that once fostered innovation for all now favors the few. We will work toward future legislation to resolve this issue, once and for all.” added Eric Ellis, i2Coalition Member, and Vice President of Customer Experience, cPanel.
