When confronted with obvious discrimination, many of us in a position of power would like to think we’d step in and try to make things fair. But unconscious and implicit biases operate on stereotypes beyond our own awareness, and in contradiction with our own conscious values. They’re far more prevalent than conscious prejudice, and scenarios such as stress may activate unconscious attitudes and beliefs.
Darcy Southwell of Southwell Solutions focuses on building tangible actions within organizations to attempt to deal with unconscious bias. During this webinar, she will help i2Coalition members create workplaces centered on equity and inclusion for all of us to work, thrive, and succeed.
