WATCH: Reawakening Digital Trade: Diverse Stakeholder Considerations Around The Future of the U.S.-EU Data Privacy Framework
On October 6, 2022, key individuals in government, industry, and academia convened at American University in Washington, D.C. for an important roundtable discussion on the future of transatlantic data flows and privacy.
“Reawakening Digital Trade: Diverse Stakeholder Considerations Around The Future of the U.S.-EU Data Privacy Framework” was the first of a two-part Transatlantic Dialogue series co-hosted by the i2Coalition and eco, the leading associations of the Internet Industry in the European Union and the United States, respectively. This timely event happened to coincide with President Biden’s Executive Order to implement the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The Washington, D.C., event was presented in conjunction with the Washington DC Chapter of the Internet Society and the Inclusive Tech Policy Initiative at American University. This event was financially sponsored by Fieldfisher, a European law firm that also has offices in Silicon Valley and China. It provides exceptional legal expertise and experience in many of the world’s most dynamic sectors.
These roundtable events bring together senior officials from the U.S. government and the European Commission, along with data protection experts, Internet industry leaders, partner associations, and diverse civil society voices to discuss the legal frameworks that could make or break the Internet economy on both sides of the Atlantic.
The next event in the series will happen in Brussels on December 6, where you can join us to find out the latest developments in the implementation of the U.S.-EU Data Privacy Framework and have opportunities to engage with key policymakers, industry experts, and other diverse voices. More details will be announced shortly.
