New Mission Statement, New Working Group, New Challenges
The 2024 i2Coalition Annual Report shares our key achievements from the past year as the leading voice of those who build the Internet—as well as a look at what we want to accomplish in the future.
As the voice of the Internet’s infrastructure, the i2Coalition advocates for the companies working for the benefit of the Internet as a whole. As we pursue that big-picture goal, we refined our mission and vision statements to reflect our growing scope of engagement and activism, as well as our wider reach across the industry landscape.
The most noticeable change was reorganizing our working groups around the Internet Infrastructure Policy Briefing, for greater focus and easier outreach for prospective i2Coalition members:
- Cybersecurity and Privacy Working Group
- Technology and Trade Working Group
- DNS Issues Working Group
- VPN Trust Initiative (VTI)
- Ethical Web Data Collection Initiative (EWDCI)
Building on the successes of the EWDCI and VIT, we are launching the Secure Hosting Alliance (SHA) in February to develop a solid set of ethical standards for the web hosting industry. We’ve made a great start in laying the groundwork for this initiative, and we look forward to sharing some success stories soon.
