Announcing Our 2018 Congressional Fly-In
Today, we’re announcing our 2018 Congressional Fly-In. The event will be held June 5th through 6th, 2018.
The Congressional Fly-In is an annual event in Washington D.C. that brings i2Coalition members from all over the world together to discuss the issues most important to their business with Congress, policy influencers, and more. This is the opportunity for Internet infrastructure leaders to stand up for the industry that drives online commerce. As a reminder, all members, including those who sign up through our new small business pricing, are eligible to attend!
We’ll be updating this post and the Congressional Fly-In page, found here, with more information as it becomes available. Sponsorship opportunities are available. In the meantime check out testimonials from previous attendees to see how beneficial this event can be for your business and our industry!

“I have been participating in the i2Coalition Fly-In events for years, with the size and scope increasing every year. During the 2015 fly-in we had 16 meetings in 2 days and the experience was amazing. All of the Senators, Congressmen and staffers we met with were interested and engaged with what we had to say. It is due to the efforts of the i2Coalition that the Internet Infrastructure Industry has a voice in policy.”

“The fly in that I2C hosted was invaluable for me both personally and professionally. As a former Political Science major and one who is actively involved locally in economic development, I can honestly say that for the first time EVER I feel like my voice has an impact with key decision makers on Capitol Hill at the national level. Absolutely brilliant event I2Coalition! Thank you for fighting the good fight and giving me a meaningful forum to join the cause!”

“The i2Coalition’s November fly-in was an excellent opportunity to meet with key Congressional Members and high-level staff. Thanks to the expert preparation by the i2C team, were able to effectively communicate our priorities to those lawmakers and staff which oversee the issues of greatest importance to i2Coalition members. The value associated with such in-person meetings cannot be overstated and go a long way to ensuring the voices of i2Coalition members are being heard at the highest levels in Washington.”

“As a leader in cloud backup for websites, CodeGuard has tens of thousands of customers, and major concerns and opinions related to data privacy and government policy that would impact our relationship with those customers. We enjoy being members of the i2Coalition because it allows us to have a voice, jointly with publicly traded companies with extensive legal teams, that ultimately reaches Capitol Hill. This is a benefit we would never have without the i2Coalition.”

“The i2Coalition fly-in was a huge success. The Internet infrastructure industry’s continuing ability to innovate is directly influenced by getting the issues that face our industry in front of our elected officials. We need to ensure that we have a role in shaping policy that affects us. i2Coalition membership is the best way to do so.”
Zac Cogswell President WiredTree

“It has been amazing to me seeing how much influence our members have had on the legislative process as a result of the fly-ins. Explaining how the Internet and Hosting world actually works and conveying the impact of legislation on that world has had a dramatic impact on Washington.”

“The i2Coalition’s Fly-In events provide a rare opportunity for Internet industry leaders to speak directly with each other about the issue facing our industry but also with legislation and policy makers in a roundtable format. There is no better way to secure this industry’s future. I try to attend as many of them as I can.”

“Even though Blacknight is an Irish based company, there is value in discussing with the US Government how it influences global issues like government access to data, Safe Harbor and the IANA Transition. Opportunities like this from the i2Coalition are tremendous in preserving the international internet we all know and love.”
Michele Neylon CEO Blacknight

“i2Coalition coordinated events are an excellent way to interact with professionals equally passionate about the issues that face our businesses. Via an open, collaborative approach, our industry’s information is translated into specific actions and recommendations -many of which have made meaningful legislative and policy impact. Participation provides access to those with a ‘seat at the table’ and a forum for making constructive change.”

“I have seen first hand how our coalition makes a difference. Visits to Capitol Hill like this result in positive change that benefits small and medium businesses in the US and the rest of the world. Our discussions with congressional and senate leaders serves as an educational resource to help our leaders better understand the complex issues on which they are required to make decisions.”

The i2Coalition did an outstanding job coordinating meetings with critical members of Congress to present issues of importance to members, and had an ambitious agenda prepared to ensure discussions were fulsome and productive. “As a first timer at the i2Coalition Fly-In, I didn’t know what to expect. The i2Coalition set up appointments with key legislators on Capitol Hill, provided talking points to drive a bipartisan agenda, and guided attendees on how to best communicate our points. It was great to see industry leaders come together and put competitive differences aside for the benefit of the industry as a whole. I will definitely be back next year.”
