i2Coalition Thanks Founding Member Media Temple
SXSW Interactive keeps getting better every year I attend. It concluded earlier this week after five full days of thoughtful presentations, new technologies, and numerous great events sponsored by leaders in the industry. I was there representing the i2Coalition, along with several of our members. Founding member Rackspace hosted its “MVP Party” on March 8 at Champions Marriott Courtyard and one of Data Foundry’s sister companies held the “Take Back Your Internet Party” earlier this week. Both events were phenomenal.
I would particularly like to thank Media Temple, one of our founding members, who hosted the “2013 SXSWi Official Closing Party” on March 12. The exciting event was held at Stubb’s BBQ and featured Richie Hawtin v. DEADMAU5, The Joy Formidable, and Local Natives. Media Temple was very helping in incorporating i2Coalition in with its event, allowing us to have a promotional table at the VIP reception.
We recently launched our “4th Amendment Rights Shouldn’t Stop at the Internet” petition encouraging Congress to update the Electronic Communications Privacy Act to include a warrant requirement for the government to search through our online communications. At the Media Temple event, we were able to successfully promote the petition and collected numerous signatures.
Special thanks to Media Temple CEO Demian Sellfors, President and COO Russ Reeder, General Counsel Jeannine Wright, and Vice President of Marketing Todd Greene for helping the i2Coalition and congratulations on a great event!
