i2Coalition Announces New New Board Members for 2025
Today the i2Coalition is announcing two key changes to our Board of Directors. James Bladel, Vice President, Corporate and Government Affairs at GoDaddy, is taking the position of Board Chair; and Alvaro Alvarez, EVP and General Counsel and Secretary for Identity Digital, is assuming the role of Board Vice Chair.
“We’re operating in a period of significant change for the Internet infrastructure industry,” said Alvarez. “It’s in times like these that the importance of i2Coalition really comes into focus. This is our opportunity to show just how essential our work is to the industry and to our members.”
“For over 25 years, governments around the world have recognized the value of the Internet as a globally shared resource,” says Bladel, “but that assumption is being challenged this year and organizations like i2Coalition must continue to support this model.”
As this organization sharpens its mission and vision to truly tap into this community’s potential, Alvarez says, “being part of i2Coalition has deepened my insight into the critical roles our partners play across the Internet infrastructure space. That perspective not only enhances the contributions I can make within i2Coalition, but also strengthens the value I bring to my own company.”
Bladel agrees: “I enjoy the opportunities to meet and learn from colleagues at i2Coalition, and share ideas on issues common to all companies in our industry.”
“I am grateful for the outsized impact that I2Coalition can have with policy-makers,” adds Bladel, “well beyond what any individual company could do on their own.”

About the i2Coalition
The i2Coalition (Internet Infrastructure Coalition) is the voice of the Internet’s builders. Representing web hosting companies, data centers, domain registrars and registries, cloud infrastructure providers, and managed services providers, we advocate for policies that protect innovation and support the Internet’s critical role in the global economy.
Our story began in 2011 during the successful fight against SOPA and PIPA, rallying the industry to protect the free flow of information online. Since formally founding in 2012, the i2Coalition has championed initiatives to keep the Internet open, secure, and accessible.
