Video: Internet Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill
On February 27, the Internet Infrastructure Coalition (i2Coalition) held our Internet Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill to educate members of Congress and their staffs about the Internet and the importance of keeping it free and open. The day included a program with leaders of the Internet infrastructure industry and members of Congress to discuss policy goals for the 113th Congress. Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS), Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA), and Alexis Ohanian, Reddit Co-Founder addressed attendees.
Today is Internet Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill
The i2Coalition’s Internet Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill is in full swing and I couldn’t be more excited. Yesterday, members met with several members of Congress, educating them about the Internet and discussing policy goals for the 113th Congress. Last night, we spent the evening at the “Celebrate the Innovation Economy” reception sponsored by CEA and co-hosted by Engine Advocacy.
i2Coalition Plans to Educate Lawmakers with Capitol Hill Internet Advocacy Day
The following commentary is by Liam Eagle cross-posted from The WHIR: The Internet Infrastructure Coalition, the organization created by hosting providers to represent the needs of the industry to the US government on matters of public policy, is planning an event at the capital designed to educate lawmakers on the role that internet infrastructure providers play in powering the economy.
February 27: Internet Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill
Just one year ago, members of the Internet community united to defeat the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA). While it is an important victory to celebrate and one not to be undervalued, our fight to preserve Internet freedom is far from over.
